Penalty for Maliciously Giving False Information.

Any person who maliciously and falsely gives information to any person exercising powers under this Act leading to a search, seizure, detention or arrest shall, on conviction, be punished with imprisonment for a term which may extend to six months or with fine which may extend to ¹[ten thousand rupees] or with both.
