Section 44: Election of Vice-President

Tamil Nadu Panchayats Act, 1994

Election of Vice-President.

(1)

The Vice-President shall be elected by the Village Panchayat from among its elected members in accordance with such procedure as may be prescribed.

(2)

If at an election held under sub-section (1), no Vice-President is elected, a fresh election shall be held for electing a Vice-President.
