The Delhi High Court on Friday (20 March) set aside the Look-Out Circulars (LOCs) issued against NDTV founders Prannoy Roy and Radhika Roy, offering relief while keeping the investigation intact.
The LOCs were issued by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) following two FIRs registered in 2017 and 2019. The 2017 case related to alleged loan irregularities involving ICICI Bank, later closed by the CBI in 2024. The 2019 FIR concerns alleged violations of foreign direct investment (FDI) norms.

Justice Sachin Datta noted that continuing the LOC indefinitely would not be justified. The court also considered submissions that the Roys had responded to summons and cooperated with the probe.
“The impugned LOC is quashed, subject to the petitioners cooperating with the investigation,” the bench stated.
Allowing the plea, the court quashed the LOCs, making it clear that the relief is conditional upon continued cooperation with the investigation.
The detailed judgment is awaited.
