The Delhi High Court on Tuesday (7 July) directed that the X account of Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) be restored after the Central government informed the Court that it no longer objected to the account remaining accessible.

The account had earlier been blocked following a government order issued under Section 69A of the Information Technology Act, 2000. The petitioner challenged the action, arguing that the blocking order should be set aside. During an earlier hearing, the Court had declined immediate relief and sought the Union government's response.

"It was blocked at a time when NEET examination was to take place... Now the examination is over."

The Court observed that since the stated concern had ceased, the account should be restored.

Accepting the Centre's statement, the Court allowed the petition and directed that the CJP's X account be unblocked.

More details are awaited.
