Background of the Case

According to the suit, Thakur alleged that unidentified entities manipulated Meta's Rights Manager system by using forged backdated timestamps to create false copyright claims over his original content. He claimed these allegedly fraudulent claims resulted in multiple videos being removed, causing financial losses and affecting his online reputation.

The suit also names Google LLC, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), and other parties, while seeking restoration of content, removal of allegedly fraudulent accounts, and compensation for the losses claimed.
