The Karnataka High Court on Thursday, June 26, passed an interim order protecting former BJP MP Ananth Kumar Hegde from any coercive action in connection with a road rage case filed against him.
Justice S R Krishna Kumar issued the interim relief while hearing Hegde’s petition seeking to quash the FIR registered against him under sections 126(2), 117(2), 74, 352, 351(3), and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.

"The court directed the petitioner to fully cooperate with the investigation while staying any coercive action," stated the bench while also issuing notice to the respondents in the matter.
According to the complaint lodged on June 23, Saif Khan was travelling in a Toyota Innova along with his family from Halenahalli to Tumkur to attend a family wedding. It is alleged that while on their way, the confrontation took place when Hegde, accompanied by his staff, was travelling from Tumakuru to Bengaluru.

"The confrontation allegedly started after the complainant did not give way to the SUV carrying Hegde, despite repeated honking," the complaint mentioned.
The police have taken into custody the driver and the gunman accompanying Hegde in connection with the alleged incident.
