The Supreme Court of India has received 293 applications from advocates seeking designation as Senior Advocates after issuing notices on February 12 and February 19, 2026 inviting eligible lawyers to apply. In a notice dated March 16, 2026, the Committee for Designation of Senior Advocates (CDSA) invited suggestions and views from members of the Bar and other stakeholders regarding the applicants.

The Court stated that such suggestions must be supported by verifiable material and submitted to the CDSA Secretariat or through email by 4:30 PM on April 1, 2026. The inputs received will be placed before the Full Court, which will take the final decision under the Guidelines for Designation of Senior Advocates, 2026.
