FIR Filed Against Lucknow Female Lawyer in Fake Marriage-Rape Scam Targeting Officials

In a startling revelation, Lucknow’s Gomti Nagar Police Station has registered an FIR against Shalini Sharma, a female lawyer accused of masterminding a criminal network to trap senior officials in fabricated marriage and rape cases. The scam, reportedly operated by a gang of lawyers from Allahabad Court, involved extorting money through threats of legal harassment and public defamation.

According to police reports, Sharma—a resident of Janak Nagar, Saharanpur—used forged marriage certificates to falsely claim relationships with high-ranking officials. Victims were threatened with rape charges and departmental inquiries unless they paid hefty sums.

Victim’s Complaint:
“Sharma provided a fake marriage certificate dated January 2, 2001, to prove our relationship. Later, we discovered the document was forged, and no such marriage was registered.”

The gang, including co-accused lawyers Ashok Kumar Pandey and Waseem Ahmed, allegedly sent copies of fraudulent FIRs to victims’ workplaces to damage their reputations. This tactic forced many to comply with monetary demands to avoid career ruin.

Two notable cases highlight the gang’s brazen exploitation of legal loopholes:

The Banarsi Babu Case: Deepak Kumar, a Varanasi official, faced a false rape charge at George Town Police Station (Allahabad) after refusing extortion demands. Investigations proved Kumar was in Banaras during the alleged incident.

Court Statement:
“The case lacked evidence and was dismissed after the local SP intervened. The charges were clearly fabricated to harass the victim.”

Army Officer’s Silent Suffering: In 2021, an army officer from Saharanpur’s Janakpuri area was accused of illegal land possession alongside his family. Fearing professional backlash, the officer avoided legal action, allowing the gang to exploit his silence.

The Bar Council of Uttar Pradesh revoked Sharma’s license and imposed a ₹50,000 fine after confirming her involvement in document forgery. Despite FIRs in Varanasi and Lucknow, Sharma remains absconding, raising questions about accountability in legal circles.
