A writ petition has been issued by the Supreme Court of India for a NEET-UG 2025 aspirant, registering serious concerns over the alleged error in the final answer key by the National Testing Agency (NTA).
According to the yield, the provisional answer key of the NEET-UG 2025 exam already contained a mistake which was not corrected in the final version. Despite the statutory opinion submitted during the approved challenge, the NTA did not amend the main.
The form states, "Question No. 136 (Code 47) answer is wrong and contrary to NCERT syllabus."

They, who have an All India Rank (AIR) of 6783 and general category rank of 3195, argue that this error has directly affected their score. If the correction is made, the candidates claim, they will earn five additional marks, which will significantly improve their rank.
The question in the form reads:
"The cardiac function of the heart is controlled by the associated sergeants:"
Options:
A. Fibrous structure
B. A special nerve center in the medulla oblongata
C. Adrenal fun hormone
D. Adrenal cortical hormone
Answer options:
A, B and D only
A, B and C only
A, B, C and D
A, C and D only
Biology claims that option 3 (A, B, C and D) is the correct answer as per the NCERT Class XI Biology syllabus, yet it was not defined as correct in the final key.
The petition has been filed in the Supreme Court through Advocate-on-Record (AOR) Shriram Parkote, urging to direct the NTA to:
- Re-evaluate the answer key to NCAI standard
- Make the result supermarket
Additionally, the sausage has sought a stay on the process of NEET-UG till the answer key is corrected.
The hearing of the case is pending before a bench of Justices PS Narasimha and R Mahadevan.
