Judicial Strength of Allahabad High Court Increases with Six New Appointments

These names were part of a list recommended earlier this month by the Supreme Court Collegium, which had suggested a total of eight judicial officers for appointment to the Allahabad High Court.

“The Supreme Court collegium had recommended the names of eight Judicial Officers for appointment as Judges of the High Court earlier this month.”

While the collegium cleared all eight names, the Central Government, in its current notification, has approved six of them. The remaining two names from the original recommendation have not been cleared as of now.

“Barring two names, the Central Government today cleared the appointment of all recommendees.”

This move aligns with ongoing efforts to fill vacancies in the High Courts and reduce the burden on the judiciary. The appointment of experienced judicial officers from the lower judiciary brings in ground-level experience and enhances the overall efficiency of the higher judiciary.

The notification serves as another step in strengthening the functioning of the Allahabad High Court, which is one of the largest High Courts in the country, dealing with a heavy caseload daily.

The remaining two names recommended by the collegium are still pending clearance, and further updates are awaited from the government or judiciary regarding their status.

The Centre has approved six out of eight names recommended by the Supreme Court collegium for appointment as Judges of the Allahabad High Court.

This development is expected to contribute positively to the judicial delivery system in Uttar Pradesh, ensuring timely justice and smoother functioning of court procedures at the High Court level.
