The Delhi High Court has dismissed the Central Bureau of Investigation’s challenge to the bail granted to former National Stock Exchange Managing Director and CEO Chitra Ramakrishna in the alleged NSE phone tapping case.

Justice Madhu Jain passed the order. The case concerns alleged interception of phone calls of NSE employees between 2009 and 2017. The CBI alleged that NSE officials engaged iSec Services to intercept calls under the guise of a cyber-vulnerability study.

The trial court granted Ramakrishna bail on December 22, 2022, subject to conditions including cooperation with the investigation, non-interference with witnesses or evidence, and prior permission to leave India.

The High Court dismissed the CBI’s plea challenging that bail order.
