The Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) has informed the Supreme Court that the revised results of the CLAT-UG 2025 will be published soon, following the court's final order issued on May 7, 2025.
The Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) told the Supreme Court on May 16, 2025, that it is prepared to publish the revised results of the Common Law Admission Test for Undergraduates (CLAT-UG) 2025. The results are pending the upload of the final order by the Supreme Court, which was passed on May 7, 2025, to correct specific errors in the answer keys.

During the hearing, Chief Justice of India (CJI) BR Gavai stated that the order from May 7 would be uploaded later in the day. In response, the Consortium’s advocate, Arun Sri Kumar, assured the court that the revised results would be released within two hours of the order being uploaded.
“We are just awaiting the final order, then we will publish the results in 2 hours,” said Advocate Arun Sri Kumar.
Background of the Case
The case before the Supreme Court was a Special Leave Petition filed by CLAT candidate Hardik Garg, who challenged the CLAT-UG 2025 results. Advocate Arun Sri Kumar, representing the Consortium, emphasized that the petitioner should have approached the court sooner. He highlighted that the Consortium had already notified on its website that the CLAT-UG results were sub judice (under judicial consideration) in the Supreme Court.

On May 7, 2025, the Supreme Court issued instructions to delete certain questions and provide marks for specific answers. Despite the oral dictation of these directions, the final order was yet to be uploaded. Kumar further explained that the Consortium had already instructed its vendor to publish the results as soon as the order was available.
“The order will be out today,” said CJI BR Gavai.
When CJI BR Gavai confirmed that the order had been signed the previous day, the Consortium's lawyer reiterated their readiness to publish the results immediately after receiving the order.
The CLAT-UG 2025 exam, conducted on December 1, 2024, encountered controversy due to errors in the question paper. Initially, a single judge of the Delhi High Court ruled that two answers were incorrect and directed the Consortium to revise the results for the petitioners.
However, the Consortium appealed this decision before a division bench of the Delhi High Court. On April 23, 2025, the division bench of Chief Justice Devendra Kumar Upadhyaya and Justice Tushar Rao Gedela heard the appeal and ordered some modifications. Finally, on May 7, 2025, the Supreme Court set aside the High Court’s order and provided new directions for the revised results.
